Jacqueline has a passion for education equity, which was ignited as a teacher at West Oakland Middle School, where she led her students to achieve the highest math scores in the district in 2009. Prior to Camp Phoenix, Jacqueline coached new teachers in the Bay Area as a Manager of Teacher Leadership and Development with Teach For America. Jacqueline graduated from the Policy, Organization and Leadership Studies program at Stanford University in 2014, earning a M.A. in Education. She also holds a B.A. degree in Civil Rights History from UC Berkeley.
JAMES "RAFIKI" PAEK | CO-FOUNDER + BOARD CHAIR
Learning & Development Partner at Facebook. James taught science with Teach For America (TFA) and went on to coach and train teachers in NYC and the Bay Area. When he's not thinking about how to develop future leaders at camp, he builds leaders at Facebook. James holds an M.S. degree in Secondary Science Education from CUNY Lehman College and a B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign.

Head of People and Talent at Class Dojo. Allison is passionate about developing an enduring camp culture. She credits her own life successes to the 10 formative summers she herself spent as a camper and then as a staff member at Camp Tawonga. Before founding Camp Phoenix, she served as the TFA-Oakland Director of Human Capital & School Partnerships building collaborative partnerships with Oakland schools and developing TFA-Oakland’s strategic growth plan.
ELLEN "ROAR" BOZZO | BOARD MEMBER
Independent Financial Consultant. Ellen has over 25 years of experience in accounting and finance and over 20 years in the areas of retail, consumer goods and beverage industry. Ellen was Chief Financial Officer of Vino Volo, a retail wine bar primarily in airports, growing the company from 4 to 36 stores. During her tenure she was also Secretary, Treasurer, and a Member of the Board of Directors. She was also a finance professional at DuPont, StoneTech Professionals, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, Imaginarium, Morgan Stanley, and Ernst & Young. Ellen volunteered as a Big Sister of the Catholic Big Sisters organization in NY and an event fundraiser for Valley Humane Society in Pleasanton, CA. Ellen holds an MBA degree from UC Berkeley, and a B.S. degree in Accounting from Boston College. Ellen lives in Danville with husband Chris and their two dogs.
GALEN "BUFFALO" WILSON | BOARD MEMBER
VP, Public and Infrastructure Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs, (focus on K-12 and general infrastructure projects). Galen was formerly a math teacher at West Oakland Middle School through Teach For America, where he became passionate about educational equity. He then spent a year as a Coro Fellow in the Public Affairs program, the nation’s oldest independent leadership training program. Galen has volunteered with the City of Oakland, Oakland Parks and Recreation. Galen holds a B.S.B.A degree in Finance from the University of San Francisco. He currently lives in Oakland with his wife Casey and dog Misty.
SARAH "She-ra" SCHUPPISSER | BOARD MEMBER
Formerly the Director of Finance and Operations at Greater Oakland (GO) Public Schools, and the Director of Institute Finance at Teach For America, Sarah brings her knowledge of non-profit finance and compliance to Camp Phoenix's board. Sarah is passionate about closing the opportunity gap for low-income youth, especially in the city she calls home. She holds a M.A. degree in Political Science from San Francisco State University and a B.A. degree in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of the Pacific. She lives in Oakland with her husband, Michael, and daughter, Amelia.
Maria Antonia "Lucuma" Hernandez | Board Member
Lead PM at Target in the Consumer IoT Strategy Group. Maria Antonia is the daughter of Peruvian immigrants who invested in her development via education and made many sacrifices to do so. Because of this, she seeks to give back whenever possible. Maria Antonia currently manages strategic planning and operations of Target Open House, an experiential retail format for Target Corporate. Previously, Maria Antonia worked in operations management and strategic planning / readiness at Apple for 6 years where she managed go-to-market launch strategies / execution and product availability. As a product manager, she developed and executed global inventory management plans for hardware products. Maria Antonia earned an M.B.A. in finance, entrepreneurship and strategy from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business School and earned a B.S. in Business Administration (Finance) from American University. She currently lives in San Francisco.
ANAYVETTE "SPRINKLES" MARTINEZ | BOARD MEMBER
Co-founder at Radical Monarchs. Anayvette "Sprinkles" Martinez, is one of the co-founders of the Radical Monarchs, a social justice scouting troop for girls of color. A San Francisco native and child of Central American immigrants. Anayvette's varied interests in advocacy, community organizing and empowerment led her to pursue her undergraduate degree at the University of California Los Angeles and later, her Master's degree at San Francisco State University in Ethnic Studies. Over the past ten years, she has developed and managed education, social justice, and gendered support programs focused on empowerment and safety for youth, families and their adult allies. Anayvette currently lives and loves in East Oakland with her partner and two children.
Judith "Wolf" Kulich | BOARD MEMBER
Managing Partner at ZS. Judith has over 15 years of experience consulting in the health care industry. She leads ZS' Pipeline & Launch Strategy practice, supporting clients in bringing new products to market to address unmet medical needs worldwide. She also founded ZS' global Women's Leadership Initiative and spent three years running the San Francisco office, during which she initiated pro bono consulting at ZS. Judith lives on the Peninsula with her husband, Brian, and two children, Hailey and Oliver. She holds an M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR) from UC Berkeley. She continues to maintain close connections to Cal and the East Bay including serving on the Advisory Board for the IEOR department and spending summers with her family at UC Berkeley's Lair of the Golden Bear. Judith credits her appreciation for the outdoors, love of adventure, and much of her confidence to time spent at camp. She appreciates the education she was provided and is eager to bring both the camp experience and opportunity for a strong education to more of our Bay Area children.
DEVIKA "Spark" SAXENA | DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Devika discovered her passion for education and social justice while teaching English and research skills at Breakthrough Collaborative in New Orleans, her hometown. Inspired by her experiences teaching middle school students at Breakthrough, she spent roughly nine years working in development for several high-impact education non-profits, including Teach For America and KIPP Austin Public Schools among others. She earned a B.A. degree in International Studies from Kenyon College in Gambier, OH and a graduate degree in South Asian Civilizations from the University of Chicago. Devika lives in Albany, CA with her husband, Max.
